DJ BIOGRAPHY

"DJing: It's not a job, it's a hobby". The words that came from Darryl Rees, a well known DJ in most parts of South Wales.

Darryl's passion for music came from his father as he was a DJ himself, nevertheless that didn't influence him into becoming a Deejay.

It all started as a bedroom DJ just like how most DJ's started, until one day he had the opportunity to DJ for a friend's birthday party with his old household speakers and his Argos decks. From then on he bought new equipment and became a mobile DJ across Swansea providing his amazing service to friends and family. Since Darryl's first DJ experience he has hosted countless number of parties in the past year from 13th to 40th birthdays with great pride.

It wasn't long until Darryl's talent for Djing was picked upon where he was working in bars and clubs all over south Wales and now currently a resident DJ in Streets Nightclub, Bridgend every Saturday. In addition to this he had been a resident DJ in Port Talbot's new club Back to mine, every Friday playing a mix of Electro and Funky house as well as every Sunday hosting a Sunday night chart show. In addition to DJing, he had also diversified into Karaoke on a Friday night for a period of time and is now going into radio shows.

Darryl's view of a night on the decs: The dancefloor is full to the brim and the punters at the centre are waving their hands in the air, the punters at the front of the DJ box shaking your hand with one of theirs and spilling their pint of fosters with the other and not forgetting the drunken crowd at the bar nodding their heads and tapping their high heels to beat of the music. That is when you know you are doing a good job.
