I first started getting into music back in 1988, when I used to be into Hip Hop and R & B. I used to be a break dancer and regularly danced at local do's and on my local estate where I spent most of my teens as you do. One of my friends had a pair of Technics 1200's, which when I saw what you could do with music I was hooked and never looked back.
I started to buy records and now have a varied collection ranging from Motown to Seventies Funk/Disco. It never stopped after that and I have carried on collecting ever since, which my girlfriend is not too pleased about.
But still to this day I get a buzz out of seeing the enjoyment on people's faces as you drop a track which everyone loves it always brings a smile to my face. I now have been Djing for 13 years and have a varied experience ranging from small bars to big clubs, and now have two radio shows a week on Mint 101.5 FM.
ELATION RECORDS: I was taken on by Elation Records as there resident DJ, along with A & R and helping out with the running of there nights called House Haven. Within a year Elation has had two releases hitting the number 2 slot on the M.O.S download chart. Artists include Soul Kitchen, Fabio Bannchini & Greg Kozo. I am also currently working on a remix that will be finished soon, and should be released early next year.
HEY GORGEOUS: I have been playing along side HG now for 3 months. This is a good opportunity for me and I have been booked for the rest of the year @ the Cross. I feel privileged to have played along side some big names including. Rico & Tomo (HG). Silky (Seminal Grooves), Knights of the Round Tables. Soul Funk Digital (Chris LP) Super Mario Bros & Soul Kitchen: Music policy is Funky uplifting House.
FUNK FUSIONZ: Working along side my partner, we have been running a night called Funk Fusionz @ the Niche Lounge. This residency has been running for over a year now, and now plays every month to a very loyal crowd who come back month after month. Music Policy is Soulful to uplifting funky house. Electro and Dirty House.
Totally Funkt: I have been working with Totally Funkt for over half a year now. Set up by Bigg Paul we play at various venues including the Egg. Now run by Damien Burbank, we are continuing to play a mixture of funky uplifting to electro house.
