I started off DJ-ing at the age of 14 on a trusty pair of Techincs 1210íS. My main music style at the time was UK garage, and after a few years on pirate radio stations working my way up the ranks, I was noticed by the owners of an up and coming South London pirate radio station named Delight FM. As the popularity of the station grew I became well known on the UK garage scene and played main sets in major clubs such as Camden Palace, Scala Nightclub and Club Colloseum. The initial success was fantastic and by the age of 20 it appeared that DJing would turn out to be an actual career, not just a hobby that I loved. Unfortunately the UK garage scene was becoming filled with hostile attitudes and was more about style than substance. The music also became increasingly directed towards MC's, meaning that playing vocal tracks in clubs became nearly impossible as the MC's expected to be talking on the mc during 99 % of a dj's set. I lost my passion for the garage scene and ended up selling my records and decks to concentrate on my professional career - This was in 2003.
Fast forward to early 2007 - My music tastes had now changed, all I listened to for the last few years was house . . . . Funky, electro, commercial. . Basically anything with a good vibe. By chance I was at a house party where there were a pair of CD decks, I Hadnít mixed in a few years and was keen to give them a try . . . . . . . . . . . A few hours and 30 mixes later and the dj bug was well and truly back in my system in a big way. A week later I went out and bought a pair of Dennon DN S3500 CD Decks and Behringer mixer and it all started again . . mixing for hours whenever I had spare time . . . . scouring the internet for unreleased or promo tunes.
I would describe my mixing style as fresh and exciting, always with the aim of getting the crowd partying to the absolute maximum. Whether it be funky electro house or commercial house my sets always contain 110 % energy and excitement.
My aim for the future is simply to get a residency at a funky bar or club.
