My very first insight into the trance and house music industry was eleven
years ago. I turned on the radio to listen to Radio 1 and a DJ named Judge Jules
now one of the worlds top DJ and producer, was performing his DJ techniques
LIVE and which at that moment I fell in love with the music and becoming a DJ
my self.
I knew the next step for me was to get practicing; therefore, the way
forward was to save and buy some decks and vinyl's. In order to become a DJ I knew
that it wasn't going to be cheap or easy.
As everything was coming into place and tuning into radio to pick up on
sounds mixed by other DJ's, I wanted to get residency so with several attempts
and giving it my best shot I got together a demo and sent it off to a few local
dances clubs,a few weeks later a promoter approached me and asked me if I
would play at his night "DANCE ADDICTON" I accepted the offer and after he
offered me a residency.
When I first got into a booth for the first time, I felt that I can do this
and be a success DJ and the atmosphere was great which all ways helps. I
thought to my self that if anyone has much passion and drive as me they can do it
too.
Some of my favourite DJs and producers I get inspiration from are ; Judge
Jules/ Tiesto/ Paul Van Dyk/ Sander Van Doorn/ Randy Kitana/ Marcel woods/
Marco V
Now have learnt many techniques from many years of practicing, when playing
different styles of house, trance tech house /trance and a bit of the deep and
funky stuff.... this makes me individual as I combine a set of these
different styles of music and into one. The most important aspects of ding is
putting the correct tunes together and interacting with the crowd as I know they
are enjoying the night it makes me feel I have succeeded.
