Nottingham has produced some fine DJs to date, and it seems there is another on the horizon. Despite having only been DJing professionally since January 2007, Joe Napier has become somewhat of a star amongst his loyalfollowing. Combining skills in scratching, looping, and numerous mixing styles, highly visual deck antics, and an excellent ear for good music, Joe truly has the ability to set dancefloors alight.
Not allowing himself to be pigeonholed musically, his sets incorporate the many styles of house, electro, techno, and trance. When asked what sort of music he plays, he simply replies; 'I like all good music, so I canít really stick to the same style, Iíd get bored of it after a bit. I play anything really, as long as it's good, and as long as it fits my set.'
With his residency for Electronika, regular appearances for club brands including Xstatic, Fixation, Psycle, Magnetic, and Excuse, plus seminal productions on their way, 2008 looks set to be an impelling year for Joe Napier. So watch this space, because this boyís going placesÖ
