Mark is a DJ of the highest caliber having not only Djed at various nights around the country in his 9 year DJ career to date, but also having spent time running his own series of succesful nights whilst at Oxford Brookes University. He now holds down a residency in Love Bar in Oxford as well as guesting at Po Na Na in Oxford on frequent occasions, recently warming up for Summer Hit Artist "The Freaks". His sets are always full of energy, and his mixing technique is second to none, whilst his music will always incorporate cutting edge new promo's and white labels as well as the odd seminal club classic, even the odd accapella... And not forgetting a raft of effects created live using a Pioneer EFX Box and DJM Mixer with CDJ turntables, all thrown in for good measure!
It was whilst in his teens Mark developed a love for House music, and it all began with a night out to Birmingham Superclub Godskitchen (then at the Sanctuary) on his 18th Birthday... It was this night out that was the turning point, as soon after a pair of Technics SL1200's and a mixer were bought, and his bedroom became awash with vinyls and DJ equipment for ever more.
Later that year, Mark went off to Ibiza for what was also to become a massive learning experience, but since then he has never looked back, and intends to return one day as the man behind the decks in Amnesia, not just as one of the many revellers in the crowd...
Mark started off his professional DJ career with a few private parties for friends birthdays, but it was whilst at University he got involved with running a club night, which he was shortly to be in charge of... Under the banner of "Mixed Futures", Mark and a group of mates ran what was at the time Oxford's biggest non commercial club night for a period of 3 1/2 years, where he was also one of the headline DJ's... It was here he played to his biggest crowds yet of almost 1000 people!
These days Mark is as happy in a small intimate venue with a handful of up for it party people as he is in a big venue in front of several hundred clubbers, and mixes it up accordingly to the crowd. He firmly believes it's vital that the DJ tries to imagine himself in the clubbers shoes, in the middle of the Dance Floor, feeding off the energy and understanding what the crowd wants... It is for this reason Mark is often commended for his highly thoughtful and rewarding sets, as well as his dedication to mixing perfection! It should also be noted that he is not afraid to chuck one or 2 of his own hottest productions into a set, which can often add a bit of variety especially when it's a new mix of a seminal club classic!
Mark is also as happy playing a really Funky House music set in a bar, as he is playing banging Breaks or Electro in a Big Club, and always carries a selection of music wherever he goes to suit the most hardened of House Music fans...
