I started DJing in 1993 at school/college parties in and around
Leamington Spa when I was 16.
My style was rave (old skool) at the time which then progressed to
Drum & Bass when the scene split back in 1994.
The first stint of nightclub DJing was at "The Edge" in Coventry (Also
known as "The Eclipse and "The Planet").
At the age of 19 I moved to Nottingham to study Sound Engineering at
Square Centre Studios where DJ Alistair Whitehead worked. It was there
where I met other DJ's/Promoters and managed to get a monthly Drum &
Bass residency at the Marcus Garvey Centre.
Moved back to Warwickshire in 1999 where a new club was opening called
Crazy Daisys. It was there where I was given a monthly residency
mixing Drum & Bass and Old Skool alongside BBC Radio 1's Grooverider,
Micky Finn, Ratpack, Ratty and Barry Ashworth from the Dub Pistols.
I had a break from DJing for a while to study Automotive Engineering
for Jaguar/Aston Martin Cars as well as developing my skills in the
recording studio and working on my own tracks.
When I got back into the scene again in 2000, my musical tastes
favoured Breakbeat to that of Drum & Bass because of the diverse
styles that Engineers were and still are producing. By changing these
styles and moods within my sets I can always keep the crowd guessing.
I've recently DJ'ed at various clubs and bars in Coventry, Leamington
Sa, Rugby and also at a new monthly breaks night in Leicester called
MINT in which Mixmag had quoted in saying "The Best Little Breaks
Night In Leicester".
To describe my style would be a diverse selection of breakbeat from
past and present ranging from funky to electro to filtered bassline
driven breaks to old skool classics then there is always a few
forgotten monsters at the back of the record box which I dig out
towards the end of my sets to add a real crescendo to the set and
really surprise the crowds!
Curious???
Then please contact me if you would like to hear a live mix demo from
MINT or a Studio Demo.
I am willing to travel anywhere in the UK and/or Abroad.
