DJ Biography:

It all started out back in 1996 as a lighting jock at the Place Nightclub in Stoke on Trent. This is where I honed my skills as a Dj as after not too long I was given the opportunity DJing the opening hour of the night. Throughout my childhood I was bought up listening to all genres of music ranging from Anita Baker, Jt Taylor, Ralph Tresvant, to the other side of the music spectrum the Green Bouncer! But my love for music lies in anything soulful and with some help from Trevor M, who was the resident DJ at the midlands biggest R&B / Hip-Hop night. I was soon drafted in to the setup and became a resident alongside Andy Brown (AKA derby's finest). Over the next couple of years I continued to concentrate on my style of mixing and general creativity and whilst on holiday in Cyprus I was introduced to a new style of music which was just blowing up UK Garage. It was there that I got to meet DJ Luck&Mc Neat and Artful Dodger to name a few. On returning to the UK I set about buying some UKG and with the some help from Soul 11 Soul contacts in London I was given acetate of Wookie Battle. This was the beginning of something which led me to DJ alongside BBC Radio 1s Spoony and The Heartless Crew. With the garage scene slowly declining I continued to play R&B until the night was finally closed due to it running its time. Although at this time I also had residencies in various Wine bars and also one-offs across the country ranging from down south to up north. It was then on a trip to New York that I went to a night called Shelter hosted by the maestro that is Timmy Regisford. I was totally blown away with the love for the music, people of all ages and races dancing away till dawn. It was there on that night I decide that I wanted to pursue this particular side of music Soulful House. That brings me to where I am now today, I had to then spend a lot of time changing my style of mixing and researching artists and producers and have since taken to producers such as Quentin Harris, Scott Wozniak, Louis Benedetti, Frankie Feliciano, DJ Spinna and Kerri Chandler all of whom continue to reach new heights with their production. My music style does vary all dependant upon the crowd I am playing too
